On Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July we’ll be holding a large Scouts camp at Park in the Past
We’ll work really hard to minimise disruption to those who live and work in the area, but you may notice an increase in traffic – particularly on Friday afternoon/evening and on Sunday afternoon.
You may also notice a bit more noise than usual – kids getting excited, music etc.
It’s really important to us that we do our best not to disturb our neighbours, but there are some things which are unavoidable given the event.
We want to achieve a balance so that the young people enjoy themselves, but those who aren’t involved nearby aren’t banging on our doors telling us to be quiet!
What we’re doing to minimise disruption
To minimise noise we’ll have Quiet Time on site from 22:30 to 07:00 where no music will be played and young people and adults will be asked to keep quiet.
We have looked at arranging the site so that speakers are pointed away from houses and we make use of the natural banks on site which will reduce noise.
As far as traffic is concerned we will have staggered drop off and pick up times, and we will be asking those arriving to come from the direction of Hope so we don’t back up traffic onto the A541 Mold Road.
If you have any suggestions on how we can make things even better (without us actually just going away!) please contact us via comms@clwydscouts.org.uk

Would you like a cup of tea…?
Saturday 12th July 3pm
To make up for any disruption – and so we can show you what we’re doing and why – we’d like to invite any local residents to join us for a cuppa, and maybe some cake if our budget stretches that far.
We’ve done our best to distribute green flyers to those who live nearby – so please bring that with you so we’re not just feeding any random who stumbled on this webpage!
Volunteer with us
Camp Clwyd is being arranged solely by volunteers. We’re going to have an amazing time doing so – learning new skills ourselves, make new friends and catching up with old ones, but most importantly making a huge difference to the lives of young people.
If you’d like to help out with Scouts in the future – whether it’s putting on activities for young people or helping behind the scenes, you can join the team today…!
Skills for life for all young people 4-24
If you know of youngsters who hear what’s going on and would like to join us, we have local Groups near to Park in the Past – including 1st Hope which is the closest – that currently have room for boys and girls and young people aged 4-24.
