1st Flint Cub Pack were visited by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Flint last week.
During the Mayor’s Inauguration Ceremony, Cub Leader Jan Joynson-Crosby, won the pack tickets to go bowling, which were hand delivered to the Cubs. The Mayor, Mel Buckley and Deputy Mayor, Russell Davies turned up in their ceremonial robes to present the tickets. They stayed for the night, and joined in with the Cub’s Mardi Gras inspired night.
They enjoyed getting involved with some crafts activities and even had some homemade Sausage Gumbo! A fantastic night was had by all, with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor really enjoying themselves.
Mayor, Mel, spent time making bead bracelet with a group of Cubs, whilst her deputy, Russell was busy making masks! Jan remarked that ‘Russell’s mask ended up looking a lot like Casper the friendly ghost’.
It’s always so great to share our experiences with members of the community! Thanks for paying a visit Mel and Russell!
