Members of 1st Johnstown Scout Group, including Squirrels, Beavers, and Cubs, took part in the 1K Children’s Dash at Alyn Waters Country Park, in support of Nightingale House Hospice today. This effort by our young people demonstrates their commitment to community service and teamwork.
The event is part of a larger initiative to raise funds for patient care at Nightingale House Hospice, with all entry fees and fundraising contributions directly supporting this cause. The participation of our scouts not only contributes to their physical wellbeing but also aligns with Scouting values of supporting those in need within our community.
We are proud of the commitment shown by our members in taking part in this event. Their involvement helped to raise awareness and funds for an important local charity, while also earning them medals for their participation. This initiative is a reflection of the Scout promise to help other people and to live by Scout values.
Tim Littler, Group Lead Volunteer for 1st Johnstown, which is in Llangollen District, said he was “very proud” of the young people for taking part. He added that “they really earned their medals and have also raised money through sponsorship”.
Well done to all involved!
