Scouts yn yr Eisteddfod
Mae ScoutsClwyd yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn Wrecsam yr wythnos hon i siarad â phobl a gwrando ar eu barn o’r Scouts.
Rydym am wybod sut y gallwn wneud defnydd gwell o’r iaith Gymraeg, dathlu ein treftadaeth Gymreig a bod yn fwy croesawgar i’r rhai sy’n siarad Cymraeg.
Os oes gennych unrhyw syniadau sut y gallwn wneud hyn, cysylltwch â ni.
Scouts neu Sgowtiaid?
Cyfieithiad llythrennol y gair Saesneg ‘scouts’ yw ‘sgowtiaid’ ond gan fod ‘Scouts’ yn enw brand yna mae’n aros fel ‘Scouts’ yn y Gymraeg.
Efallai y byddwch chi’n gweld grwpiau Scouts eraill yn defnyddio ‘Sgowtiaid’ ond credwn eu bod nhw’n anghywir!

Scouts at the Eisteddfod
Clwyd Scouts are at the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham this week to speak to people and listen to their views on Scouts.
We want to know how we can make better use of the Welsh language, celebrate our Welsh heritage and be more welcoming to those who speak Welsh.

Scouts or Sgowtiaid?
The literal translation of the English word ‘scouts’ is ‘sgowtiaid’ but as ‘Scouts’ is a brand name then it stays as ‘Scouts’ in Welsh.
You may see other Scout groups use ‘Sgowtiaid’ but we believe they are incorrect!
