Important news for those born between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013 – so those who are aged 12 to 16 currently…

The World Scout Jamboree is Scouts’ most important camp. Tens of thousands of Scouts from almost every country in the world attend. Participants must be aged between 14-18 on the day it starts, and as these only happen every 4 years everyone only gets one chance to attend as a participant.

The next World Scout Jamboree takes place in Poland in 2027, so if those born between the above dates miss it, they don’t get to go to another one as a participant.

These are incredible camps with the unique opportunity of camping with the whole world. Please help us to get the message out to those who are eligible so they don’t miss their chance to apply.

Please underline that while World Scout Jamborees are expensive, there are grants out there to help with the cost, and participants at previous Jamborees have managed to fundraise the full amount.

Only a limited amount of places are available and these are allocated via a selection event.

This time round ScoutsCymru are holding a joint selection event with other international opportunities – the benefit of this is that those who don’t get picked of the World Scout Jamboree may still get the chance to attend other opportunities.

For full details, including how to apply and the dates for the selection event click here.

Applications close at MIDNIGHT on 5 October 2025.

If you have any questions, there is an in person roadshow at Wrexham Scout HQ on the 15th September, or a Zoom alternative on 18th September. Details again via the link above.

If you know of any Scout, Explorer Scout or Young Leader who was born between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013 PLEASE do your best to make sure they know about this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Thank you!
