Last weekend 34 Scouts from Clwyd travelled to Ystradgynlais to take part in the Scouts Cymru International Opportunities taster weekend alongside fellow Scouts from across Wales.
Each young person took part in a wide selection of activities during the course of the event, from fire lighting and backwoods cooking to team building and problem solving challenges and a Hallowe’en disco!
They heard from Scouts who had taken part in international trips in previous years as they shared their experiences and the group developed a deeper understanding of the standards and commitment expected of young people who represent Wales and the UK at scouting events around the World.
As part of the international opportunities weekend, selection took place for three forthcoming adventures: the World Scout Jamboree 2027 in Poland; the ScoutsCymru Taith Explorer Belt expedition to Bavaria 2026 and the ScoutsCymru Taith trip to Ireland 2026.
Good luck to all of the participants from Clwyd Scouts and we can’t wait to hear about your international adventures!
